Why Can't The Peoples Front Of Judea Coalesce With The Judean Peoples Front?
Left-wing Irish politics is the worst political rom-com ever.
For those of you of a younger age than I, The Peoples Front of Judea is a fictional revolutionary group from the 1979 British comedy film “Monty Python's Life of Brian.” Which at one stage was banned in Ireland. This group is a parody of the many splinter factions that existed in Judea at the time of Roman occupation. In the film, the different groups, including the People's Front of Judea, spend more time arguing among themselves than fighting the Romans. The satirical depiction highlights the absurdity and infighting that can occur within political movements and is certainly akin to left wing Irish politics who like to argue over whose turn it is to bring hummus to the next meeting or what is the correct way address each other and debating whether “action this day” meant today or sometime next week.
