Trump’s Iran Adventure: Because What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
Welcome to the world of Dr Strange-Trump
Well, here we are again—America is bombing another country in the Middle East. And who better to lead this fine mess than Donald J. Trump, a man whose foreign policy philosophy can best be described as like watching a drunk man negotiate a minefield—somehow, he made it across without blowing himself up, though not without leaving a few craters. His “America First” is less a doctrine and more a middle finger to NATO, the UN, the EU, the WTO, etc. He hates any country that is subscribed to a transnational acronym.
First of all, the Iranian regime is an authoritarian, undemocratic, and deeply misogynistic due to its theocratic nature. There are restrictions on freedom of expression, assembly, and association: The regime routinely suppresses freedom of speech, press, and assembly. Independent political parties, civil society organisations, and trade unions are banned or heavily restricted. Protests are often met with violent crackdowns, arrests, and severe punishments. Systemic Discrimination is widespread. Women and girls, LGBTQ+ individuals, and ethnic and religious minorities face widespread systemic discrimination and violence. This includes strict compulsory veiling laws for women, criminalisation of consensual same-sex relations, and harassment and discrimination against religious minorities like Baha'is. All of this is well documented. If you find yourself before a judge, you will find he is not independent and is a tool of the regime. Trials are systematically unfair, and arbitrary detentions, torture, rape and enforced disappearances happen daily. The economy is heavily influenced by the clerical oligarchy and institutions like the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), leading to cronyism, corruption, and a lack of transparency. This exacerbates economic hardship for many ordinary Iranians. The Islamofascist Iranian regime should not have a nuclear bomb, and it is a very bad place, particularly for women or anyone with a conscience.
Trump didn’t start this fire, but he poured petrol on it. Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s embattled and incredibly corrupt prime minister, saw an opportunity to drag the U.S. into this fight—and Trump, ever the sucker for flattery and force, took the bait. Donald Trump’s decision to bomb Iran’s nuclear sites isn’t a strategy—it’s self-sabotage. It isn’t leadership—it’s lunacy. And it certainly isn’t about national security—it’s about a floundering, feeble-minded president scrambling to project strength as his pathetic grip on power is being exposed as intellectually feeble. Trump doesn’t have strategies. He has tantrums. He doesn’t read intelligence—he rejects it. He doesn’t learn—he lies. Constantly. About everything. So when this incompetent, inexperienced, poor excuse for a President—surrounded by sycophantic political swamp creatures—orders a military strike, we should treat it with great disdain.
The timing alone reeks of desperation. After days of dithering, flailing, and embarrassing public hesitation—while Iran almost certainly moved its most critical nuclear assets—Trump finally pulled the trigger. Why? Not because of an imminent threat (where’s the evidence? The intelligence he’s spent years trashing as “deep state” lies?). No, this was a cheap, dangerous spectacle—a flailing strongman act from a weak, failing president.
So let’s say the Iranian regime collapses—hooray, right? Freedom! Democracy! And, oh yes, 400 kilos of 60% enriched uranium that has been reported to have been moved away from the nuclear sites. Because nothing says “stable transition of power” like a bunch of revolutionary guard leftovers, rogue generals, and ISIS-adjacent psychopaths playing with enough nuclear material to make a very dirty nuclear bomb. Imagine the scene: Tehran’s in chaos, the Revolutionary Guard is selling uranium by the gram on eBay, and some enterprising jihadist in a cave somewhere is Googling “how to build a dirty bomb (for beginners).” Meanwhile, back in the Oval Office, Trump’s busy tweeting about how this was always the plan, how he totally knew the regime would fall, and how this proves he’s the best dealmaker ever—never mind that the only deal here is “give terrorists enriched uranium and get a global panic for free.” This is what happens when you let a man who can’t even manage to get a casino to make a profit run foreign policy. The world’s most dangerous game of finders keepers is about to begin, and the only thing dumber than that happening is the fact that nobody in the White House saw it coming. You know why? Cause Trump sacked all the smart people who disagreed with him.
As always, it appears Trump ignored the law. Past strikes under the War Powers Act at least paid lip service to Congressional oversight. But Trump—ever the wannabe dictator—couldn’t be bothered with even the pretence of democratic norms. He dismissed legal constraints and once again treated the presidency like his personal playground. Here’s the thing about wars: They’re very easy to start but real hard to finish. Trump seems to think this is like one of his bankruptcies—just walk away when you’re bored and let someone else clean up the mess. But wars don’t work like that. Iran gets a vote in how this goes. And so far, their response has been the geopolitical equivalent of fuck you. Meanwhile, his MAGA diehards—the “America First, no more dumb wars!” crowd—are suddenly realising that their guy just signed them up for another tour in the Middle East’s eternal shit show.
Trump isn’t strong. He’s scared. He isn’t strategic—he’s stupid. And his reckless, ill-conceived strike won’t make America safer. It will make the world more dangerous—all so a failed, fraudulent president can distract from his own spectacular incompetence.
Excellent analysis.
Let this be a lesson to all parents - don’t let your child become an undisciplined bully - look what they can do to the world.
Mind you, in his to be written biography “my wonderful big successful life” The Trump will claim the destruction of the USA & annihilation of half the world was all part of the grand plan. 🤣
Excellent summary of the most recent chaos coming from the US. This really is a shit show worthy of a man who makes a rabid dog look like a more stable companion.
