Here’s a list of Sinn Fein members past and present who have taken to the courts in recent years to clear their good names.

In 2015, Mary Lou McDonald, then Sinn Féin’s deputy leader, sued the Irish examiner the previous year over an editorial and opinion column.

For the same article, Pearse Doherty the party’s finance spokesman sued the Irish Examiner also over the editorial and opinion column. It was reported they received about €100,000 between them from the Irish Examiner.
