“Our Labour ambition is for one million homes in ten years, starting now" Are they taking the piss?
The Irish Labour Party are not even in Government.
Say what you like about the Labour Party, so I will. Unless they can convince Fergus Finlay to come out of retirement, Labour is in serious trouble at the next General Election. They lack serious communications and electoral strategists, and more worryingly, they also have a leadership problem. Ivana is a strong legislator but she can’t connect with your average voter. She’d remind you of Alan Dukes the former leader of Fine Gael; a fierce brainy fella, but lacking that common touch. This is something you might get away with as a centre-right political leader, but it is a fatal flaw when you’re the leader of the Labour Party in what’s meant to be a working-class party.
