Online Campaign Spending By Political Parties In Northern Ireland
Not as spendthrift as the Republic.
Democracy is being allowed to vote for the candidate you dislike least and in fairness there’s a lot of them to dislike in the upcoming general election in Northern Ireland. I’ve written about Facebook and Instagram spending by political parties in the Republic during the recent local and European elections, which you can read here. But let’s have a look at how much Northern Ireland's political parties are spending on META since the general election was called by suicide Sunak last month.
In the recent local and European elections in the Republic, Sinn Féin outspent all the rest of the political parties put together for only a laughable 11.8% share of the vote which was a massive 12.8% drop since the Republic’s 2020 General Election.
