In a reversal of recent online digital spending trends by political parties on META, Fine Gael has overtaken Sinn Féin on how much it has been spending on META advertising over the last 30 days. It is not exactly money for nothing, and the clicks are not free. Political parties will spend a record amount of money on digital advertising for this general election. Fine Gael is now outspending all other parties combined on META advertising.

There are 685 candidates in the running for the General Election 2024. The main political parties have met their gender quotas. Overall, women make up 36.2% or 248 of the candidates running. In the 2020 general election, 162 (30.5%) women ran for election. So a significant increase there.
