Does Fianna Fáil know they are in Government?
Cabinet collective responsibility is enshrined in our constitution.
I wake up, walk the dogs, have breakfast, check my emails, check my socials, take my blood pressure tablets, and start scrolling and I see this tweet from Fianna Fáil.
I start looking for my glasses, thinking that what I’m seeing can’t be right. I try to recall last night, wondering how much alcohol I had to drink. Then I remembered that I didn’t drink at all. Did I get stoned? No, I don’t smoke. Maybe I did a lot of acid and am still feeling the side effects? But no, I don’t do drugs either.
So……
The tweet posted by Fianna Fáil left me baffled because as everyone knows Fianna Fáil are in Government and we have something in our constitution called - Cabinet collective responsibility. Collective responsibility of Government is not some political theory, but rather a legal principle enshrined in the Irish Constitution.
